Start with what matters to you.
Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand symptoms can make simple tasks feel complicated. We see people with joint and tendon concerns, sports injuries, nerve-related hand symptoms and limitations following orthopaedic surgery.
Common conditions we assess
- Rotator cuff tendinitis and tendinosis
- Shoulder bursitis
- Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
- Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)
- Hand and finger osteoarthritis
- Carpal tunnel syndrome (wrist and hand symptoms)
These are examples, not a diagnosis or a fixed treatment plan. We assess what is causing your symptoms, how they affect your life and what you want to regain. Your plan draws on current research, clinical judgement and your response to care. For suitable musculoskeletal presentations, high-power Class IV laser or radial or focused shockwave may also have a role. Explore nerve-related symptoms for another way to find care for hand tingling or numbness.
Your assessment
Your physiotherapist will ask about the onset of symptoms, assess relevant movement, strength and sensation, and look at the tasks you find difficult. Your goals guide which changes matter most.
Your rehabilitation plan
Care can include exercises, hands-on treatment and a gradual return to the demands of work, recreation or sport. If you are interested in shockwave, an assessment helps determine whether it fits your presentation.
What happens when I come in for shoulder tendon pain?
We assess the painful movements, shoulder strength, activity demands and other possible contributors. Rehabilitation usually includes a progressive plan for movement and loading. Laser or shockwave is considered only when it has a suitable role for your presentation.

Recovery goals that fit your life
Your goals might include reaching overhead, gripping, carrying groceries or returning to a racquet sport. We turn those priorities into a plan that fits your daily routine.
What to discuss at your first visit
Describe the movements that are difficult, any recent injury or change in training, and the demands of your work or sport. Mention any tingling or numbness in the hand. Your comprehensive physical assessment includes treatment at the same visit.
How we review your progress
Your plan can use reaching, lifting, gripping and sport-related tasks as practical markers of progress. Follow-up visits give us time to review your response, answer questions and adjust your exercise and hands-on care.
Technology within your rehabilitation plan
Our commitment to evidence-informed practice means choosing treatment around your assessment findings and recovery goals. Where appropriate, radial or focus shockwave and high-power Class IV laser can form part of your care alongside exercise and hands-on treatment. These technologies are included in your physiotherapy fee, with no additional charge.
