Build confidence in everyday movement.

Exercise-focused outpatient physiotherapy for selected neurological presentations.

Start with a practical goal

Getting up from a chair, walking around home or feeling steadier outdoors can make a meaningful difference to independence. We offer care for some outpatient neurological conditions, especially where exercise, strength and balance training can support functional goals.

Neurological conditions affect people differently. Contact reception before booking so we can check whether our clinic, equipment and available clinicians fit your needs.

What we consider at the assessment

We discuss your diagnosis, medical history, current rehabilitation, mobility aids, falls and any changes in function. We also ask which activities matter most and what support you have at home.

The physical assessment may include strength, range of movement, balance, walking and tasks such as standing from a chair. Testing is adapted to your abilities and safety needs.

What your program may involve

  • Task practice: work on meaningful movements such as standing, turning or stepping.
  • Strengthening: improve the muscle capacity needed for your chosen activities.
  • Balance training: practise appropriate challenges with the support required for safety.
  • Activity planning: find a manageable level of practice around fatigue and daily routines.
  • Home guidance: clarify which activities to practise, what assistance is needed and how to progress.

Define progress in your own terms

A useful improvement might be needing less assistance for a task, walking farther with an aid or feeling more confident when changing direction. We agree on goals that are realistic for your condition and review them over time.

Some plans focus on gaining function; others focus on maintaining abilities and managing changing needs. We discuss those priorities with you and coordinate with other providers when appropriate and with your consent.

Finding the right level of support

Our service is not a substitute for every type of specialist or multidisciplinary neurological rehabilitation. If you need support beyond what we can provide, we will discuss that openly so you can pursue an appropriate setting.

Let reception know about transfer assistance, communication needs, fatigue or other accommodations before your appointment. Bring medical reports, your usual mobility aids and your current exercise program.

Your questions, answered

Can a family member or caregiver attend?

Tell reception if you would like a support person to attend. With your agreement, they may help communicate your goals and understand the assistance needed for home practice.

Can I book a general assessment online?

Please call first for neurological care. This helps us confirm suitability, clinician availability and any additional arrangements before you attend.
